They are about to be validated, at least two I did for a test. But it's only the kart body, not the tires or bottom stuff.

Well, it's not the model breaking itself. It's 3DS Max breaking the model. (And I have to do that step to work with it in Blender). So it's more a tool-related issue, the BFRES import scripts themselves are working fine. I'm writing my own BFRES-to-DAE tool anyway, to get rid of this 3DS Max annoyance.

Yeah, I was reading through the main Mario Kart 8 comment section, (I guess is what you'd call it) and you mentioned that happening with the train in Rainbow Road 64 as well. It seems weird though that a model would essentially break itself after being exported.

I'm capable to do it for _some_ track objects right now, but due to an issue I can't convert _most_ track objects at this moment.

I know the objects in the tracks (they're referenced in the BYAML files and easy to pick out), so that's no problem.

I can also import them into 3DS Max. However, I optimize the models and correct issues of them in Blender, and 3DS Max messes something up when exporting it to Blender.

E.g., I cannot do _most_ track objects right now. People who are good in 3DS Max should be able to do it, but not me (yet).

(Example: I imported "KoopaClaw", which is the object name for the giant lava koopa seen on this map, into 3DS Max, and it looks okay there. But when I import it into Blender, all his body parts are smashed together in one giant blob.)

Okay, wait. Sorry, I'm a little bit lost. Are you saying you're going to try to see if you can make something happen, or are you saying you're totally capable of doing it, but it'll take some time?

Yeah, that's true. Basically any animated object is in a seperate file, and loaded with the track in-game. Sadly, these are all in one large folder, with only internal names referencing them, and it's hard to pick one specific item outta it. Maybe I parse the track files to find out the internal object names.

They'd be in separate downloads then, and I may upload a list of items going together, or put a readme into the download.

I already uploaded an airship together with it's propeller (even parts of animated objects are separate sometimes).

Dude, this looks amazing! Although, I've gotta say, my favorite part of this course is the animated scenery models (Ex. giant cannons, Bowser flags, spotlights, etc), and they aren't here, which I get those were more than likely separate models from the full course. So, if I could make a request, would you be able/willing to post the scenery models separately? I have no idea how model ripping works, as I've never done it myself, so I don't know how difficult this would be, but if you could do this, it would really make my day! The fact that you ported this course already made my day, but I digress.
