Last week, Ton left you with a simple message - Black Lives Matter. This isn’t just a statement, a group of protesters, or a movement; it’s a fact and one that’s unfortunately being regularly ignored. It’s sad that this even needs to be said in 2020 but I think the current state of the country makes it clear that not everyone is on the same page.

I’d like to quickly address the negativity displayed in the comments of last week’s update. Neither we nor anyone else using the phrase “Black Lives Matter” is suggesting that they matter more. They don’t claim that they’re the only victims of police brutality or the only targets of ignorance, hate, and racism. They simply want an end to the systemic racism they experience on a day-to-day basis, especially at the hands of the police, and that is something that everyone should be able to agree with unequivocally.

So I’ll leave you with this: We at The VG Resource stand with Black Lives Matter and against racism and police brutality. The changes they’re pushing for will benefit everyone and they deserve the justice they’re seeking. If these statements somehow offend you, nobody is forcing you to stay but remember this moment when you find yourself on the wrong side of history. And if you are choosing to be on the wrong side of history and are in fact just racist, do us all a favor and leave.

No new content will be highlighted in this update out of respect and in an effort to avoid distracting from the issue at hand. Instead, take a look here to see how you can help if you feel so inclined.

Honestly, I think the mods/admin should just disable comments for this update all together.

There are people here throwing tantrums over not having access 3D fictional characters from video games as soon as they want and thinking that compares in any way that there are people getting killed IRL because of systemic racism (yeah, life isn't a video game--you don't get checkpoints). If they can't be mature about this and accept that they don't run this website, I think we should just take away the platform for them to complain--there's already enough of that in the world as it is.

We do stand for equality @Petie, but there were pending Badnik models for Sonic Generations 3DS and forum requests of mine gone unanswered. Not to mention there are still Minions like Heavy Fire Bros, Blasta Mechakoopas, Zappa Mechakoopas, Pyro Guys, Slime Drops, Petal Guys, and others in limboo. This is also a serious issue just like Black Lives Matter, and something HAS to be done. After all, bad evil wins when good evil does nothing.

Anyone who says "Black Lives Matter is preaching" clearly doesn't know what they're talking about

are people seriously getting angry because they can't look at an arbitrary list of models that you can just look at separately anyways

I think people are misconstruing incompetence and apathy as racism. That would explain why all races get oppressed by police when unarmed. Not saying there isn't any racism, but I think it is much more likely that people kill others because they are incompetent and apathetic about their job than because they wanted to kill someone cause of their skin color. We have to hold police to a higher standard since the job they have is tough and has a lot of power, but how do we raise standards when there is an increasing demand for police officers, and a dwindling desire for people to become one?

The real issue is that we delegate all of our problems to police officers instead of dealing with those issues our selves. Not saying we should never call for help, but if we want to live in a community where we help each other out without even knowing each other's names, we need to step in when we see something wrong instead of calling someone else who doesn't know much about the issue, and will use quicker, and more blunt approaches to the situation.

hypocrisy and bias. That's the whole Black Lives Matter. No one held rallies about Marvin John Heemeyer. Probably the wrong skin color.

Everything is so familiar ... Georgia, Bolotnya poloshad in Russia, Kong Kong, Ukraine ...
In the USA, has the US Consulate opened?

Its weird that we have to discuss something like this...
One month with a note to remind us to love each other instead of model updated does not hurt...
We all have pending models, but more important, we all have rights and a heart

Yes, it is. Because this isn't BLM preaching - it's standing up for basic human rights and there is never an inappropriate time or place to do so. This isn't some little protest - it's a major issue and deserves attention from everyone.

I'm all for treating people right regardless of the color of their skin, but is a website like this that mainly focuses on ripping video game assets really the appropriate place for BLM preaching?

Edit:
Just to be clear, I'm not angry or upset. I just feel like this isn't the right place for this kind of talk, it seems like a weird place to get into deep political discussion.

Someone NEEDS to check all of my pending models and approve them before the 4th of July!

@Wiiman777: Seriously? You care more about models than people being mistreated and dying in the world? Just wait until next time for the update, jeez. It's ONE update where new content isn't showcased and people go crazy. Doesn't mean it's not on the site. Get over yourself.

Where's our content? You could have featured just black characters for the new content update. >:(
