or just use the eevee rendering engine it has backface culling built in

@rveyrand you can emulate backface culling using the input>geometry>backface node and multiplying that with the alpha you are already using [you may need to invert the backface boolean with color>invert]

normally, they have a transparent texture, but cycle rendering on blender...do not take in account backface culling.
my bad if preview pic does not display these properly
