megawooma: It could also be because i don't use blender.. I use Metasequoia, and it has a hard time doing anything super complicated, so nodes are mostly out of the question. It's also easier for me to alpha lock a certain texture and change the colors that way for me. Though, If you're good at using blender it's a good skill to have. Props to you if you can get those to work!

Hey so, good news! The existing submissions have been updated with rigging (.DAE / .FBX) courtesy of RTB's updated BFRES importer; that'll be the default for my S3 uploads from this point on. About that "low-poly" surprise I'd promised – I've included the LOD models that many non-playable characters have! Take a gander if you dare, 'cause... some of 'em look, uh, pretty cursed.

Dedf1sh: you have to (somehow) obtain the nsp/xci of the game, get the prod and title keys of the switch,get switch toolbox, import the rom, locate npc (usually has npc_ in front),double click the npc file, right click models folder and export all. DAE has losses apparently so we'll have to wait for a converter for splatoon 3 specific file archive.

Everyone having trouble with the shaders, But won't it be easier to manually color and edit the textures? It's what i've been doing with all the splatoon models, honestly.

@Centrixe the Dodo: switch toolbox allows for direct export to .dae with textures. Does .dae loose data?

So, Callie and Marie have face bones but only in the open wide smile mouth for lip edits, no jaw or eye bones so they default to the swapping method (which is very noticeable). Callie's model didn't want to export with proper face UV's until the stars aligned i guess and they work now. The squid sisters both have their idol outfits. The Frye and Shiver models currently uploaded don't have bones or vertex groups and idk how we go about fixing that. Animations can be exported (Marie has a strange unused one) but somewhere in the process they break (in blender at least). Shiver and Frye also have butt bones lel. Callie and Marie have 0 butt

@Noah Infinity I think it kind of switches back and forth, I've noticed (especially in the last cutscene of hero mode) really smooth mouth movements for the player but in the plaza they use the dif mouth models technique (or maybe the transition is just much more harsh?), I dont remember about the npcs tho, I know marie's mouth movements seemed really sharp
