I came back here because I wonder, did anyone had the idea to mod characters into Diddy Kong Racing similar to the way of modding SSB?

I could possibly look into how custom content is made for Smash 64.

I assume it's pretty complicated, as most N64 editing tools have GUIs that look like they came from '96, and are generally annoying to setup and get stuff working.

Anyone knows how to insert models into N64 roms? It would be really cool to finally play as Shovel Knight in a Smash game.
