Amazing how they managed to make a GBA game look like an early PS1 game!

That’s a link to the site Discord server. You can get help learning to rip there. (I don’t know anything about ripping)

@B1uelight I know right? This game was pretty much ahead of it's time, and it was 1 year before the Nintendo DS came out.

Wow, I didn't know there was a 3D GBA game with this level of quality to the models! These look like they could have been on the DS!

A list of games I know use 3D (not requesting them, just sharing info):
- Most of the Tantalus Interactive games have an internal filesystem and have a few 3D assets
(textures usually being stored in 8 bits per pixel, linear, 2-Dimensional mode. Some of their games compress these assets. The compression format is unknown.)
- The Tony Hawk's Pro Skater engine games (well, at least the Disney one from what I've messed around with. The player is a 3D model, everything else is sprites.)
- Ozzy and Drix (2.5D platformer, world and characters are entirely 3D while the items and backgrounds are 2D)

I think Monster Trucks Mayhem has 3D models, maybe it would be added to The Model's Resource.

Sonic Battle has 3D battle stages, and the first two Spider-Man movie games have bonus stages/overworlds depicting 3D New York City.

@DZTVE: It's a flat image effect (Mode 7) for GBA racing games.

One of those rare reminders that the GBA was capable of actual 3D...

@DZTVE most racing games I'm aware of, did use sprites. To achieve the 3d effect, they used Mode-7, a hardware accelerated ray casting mode. When done right, it could simulate 3d very decently. Great examples for this are F-Zero and Mario Kart.( both for SNES and GBA use it to great effect)

As for 3d racing Games on the GBA, I only remember Crazy Taxi and maybe the Need for Speed games being actually rendered in 3d on hardware. After all the GBA has more limited memory than the already very limited NDS with its 2mb of VRAM. So most games stuck to Ray casting instead.

Wouldn't have expected an Asterix game of all things to have impressive 3D environments.
