@Junonoon For most cases it looks like you can just submit to the regular game (e.g. smash ultimate, mario kart 8 deluxe). However it may be beneficial to put them in a dlc subsection for the game depending on what the models are (e.g. the enemies for splatoon 2's octo expansion).

Okay, so I compared the Splatoon 2 & MK8 sparrow model, and there are various similarities and differences. They both have the exact same albedo texture, but the MK8 model also has a specular map while the Splatoon model doesn't. The Splatoon model has legs, but the MK8 model doesn't, despite containing the texture for them. The MK8 Model has fully modelled wings and tail, whereas the Splatoon model uses planes for them, with two planes for the tail. The T-pose for the models are also different, with the MK8 model having the wings facing down and the tail up, and the Splatoon model having wings facing forward and the tail down. Also the body is different with the MK8 model being curved and coming to a point, while the Splatoon model is more round. So they kinda reused the model, but not entirely.

To texture this model correctly you need to use mirror texture tiling and multiply the vertex color with the base color.

If you use Blender, you can use this node set up (2.82+).

I noticed that the Candle, Queen Peach and the Summerstone Castle are more detailed than the Wii Sports Resort counterparts. Also, the Stillwater Grotto has a metal bridge leading to the upper exit, which wasn't present in the Wii Sports Resort counterpart. Oh, and there's a log "bridge" on the Beginner's Archery Area.

I didnt, the game uses texture swizzling, thats probably what you're talking about. I used a modded version of assetstudio that automaticaly deswizzles the textures, cause doing it one by one would be hell.
