	@mrs puh'f I don't think this community is going to die anytime too soon, considering quarantine is going to end up bringing more people into digital hobbies like this (I know I've never used blender until the boredom got to me) ALsO, does anyone know how to color the inside of the squib's mouth? It's a TRM dealio and I already have that set up, but I just can't find the right files to use for the TRM and the Albedo.

	Aw... I'm sad you feel that way. I actually felt that I was posting too much, so I pulled back a bit. Generally, I try to only post when someone has a question or needs help with something. Plus, posting here isn't really the best way of communication. Since I don't know what else to say, here's a inkling picture I made recently. [Bigger version here.] I know her face is lit weirdly, I've never been good at lighting or rendering. I made the pose and facial expression using my Blender inkling setup.

	Of course we have not Splatoons Engine But you can fake it, in eevee and in Cycles Like me - iam faking the Engine of MHW in Cycles

	Most likely, yeah... but the shader would require more nodes than just the basic textures. Even then, it would never look one-to-one with Splatoon. Blender's Eevee renderer is similar to a video game's graphics in the fact that it renders images almost instantaneously, at the cost of more realistic graphics... it would be better to use eevee if you want a look closer to Splatoon's.

	SHADERS!!! since blender has a realistic engine, can't we just make a shader thats more cartoon'ish to simulate splatoons engine?

	Adding on to Jasper's answer, Blender uses actual subsurface scattering. Splatoon uses a texture to simulate it.

	I edited my comment about thc/trm textures, hopefully it makes more sense! Like Gabriel said, Blender and Splatoon are very different. It takes more effort to create a cartoonish material in Blender than it would a realistic material. In a game engine, it takes more effort to create a realistic material than it would a cartoonish material. The difference in how these engines handle rendering materials explains why the color shift doesn't appear in Blender. We would have to make a more complicated material to show the color shift in Blender because that effect is unrealistic, which isn't what Blender is built for.

	As you're talking about VRChat, and how it has the same effect on tentacles as in Splatoon, perhaps the two engines work similarly when it comes to thc textures. You're viewing it in blender, and blender's engine isn't the same as a video game's engine. So maybe, even if it doesn't look right in blender, it'll look right in VRChat.

	Here's how to use thc and trm textures in the principled shader. Thc [thickness map] = Subsurface value Trm [transmission map] = Subsurface color Sometimes a material will have a trm texture, but not a thc texture, In that case use a low value close to 0.03 and adjust it until it looks alright. Perhaps that 'color shift" effect is common in game engines? This effect doesn't seem to show up that clearly in Blender. It might show up when you convert the model to a different game engine.

	Another option [that's easier in my opinion] is to press A to select all the objects in the scene [in this case a fully completed inkling/octoling], press CTRL+C to copy all of the selected objects, and then in a another Blender project file press CTRL+V to paste the objects you copied. The objects you copy will be able to be pasted until you copy a different object [even if you close the original file].

	Save it as a project. Whenever you want to use it, simply go to file, and click on append. Open the project the inkling is in, and select the armature (or anything else you want in the scene). Edit: Make sure that after you open the project, you click on object, not armature or anything. For convenience, just press (a) on your keyboard to select everything, and just delete whatever you don't need afterwards.

	how do i make the thc file for the hair work, i looked at them and then i remembered that for the inkling girls hair, the circles that surround the ends of her tentacles have a different look everytime you shift the camaras view, is that the thc file, and if so, how do i make it work in blender?

	Question: If I have a properly shaded inkling with clothes etc attached to the armature, and want to be able to re use it in other projects, what format should I export it in? I've tried FAC but that doesn't seem to save the shading nodes. Which format will save the nodes and parent modifiers? (i'm using blender)

	So i'm working on shading the model of Inkopolis to use as a background for another render, but I've noticed that all the electronic billboards are gone. I can't seem to find them either in the texture files or as a map object for download here. Is there something I need to do to enable them, or are they just separate objects that haven't been ripped yet?

	Ah, I see what you mean now. I saw something like that in a video explaining when to use fk or ik. It's not a good technique to use because you'll usually get that 'sliding' effect anyway. Besides, you can bake ik frames to fk frames [at least in Blender], so it is not a problem for game animations if the engine doesn't support ik.

	Say you have an FK rig, and you want to animate a walk cycle. You don't want any foot sliding, so as you move the entire rig forward, you have to try to match the foot to the exact place it was the previous frame.

	That sounds cool, Gabriel! I think there must be something preventing the characters' feet going through the floor in the game because in animations I exported the feet slide around, but that doesn't show in game [maybe it was my exporter's fault?]. Maybe Splatoon 2 does use some kind of ik setup?
