	What do you mean by "variable input"? If you're talking about how I use RGB nodes instead of just using the color input, I did that so I could quickly share colors between materials without copy pasting the hex color, though I'm pretty sure you're talking about something else I don't know...

	Thanks Jasper! This’ll help with making renders without making twelve million different textures. XD Also, could you use a variable input instead of the standard RBG. Just a thought.

	@cmars Looks good! @Weirdkid_12, I'm glad you have found my video tutorials to be helpful! I've actually been meaning to update a few of them for a while but I haven't had the time. As for the hair/tentacles, I understand most of the hair textures, except for thc/trm because I can't make it look right. Oh well, here's some Blend files for the long tentacle style for the Inkling Girl. One has THC/TRM textures, the last two don't. The first of the last two has all the textures for the hair except THC/TRM, the other one has clearcoat added because I like how it looks, lol. None of the files have the EMM texture. I named the folder "incomplete shader" because there's probably something wrong with the SSS and there's probably ways to make the shaders look better, but that's all I've got for now...

	Hey Jasper, I’m an aspiring animator/game dev and your video tutorials helped a lot. But I wasn’t able to find a shader for the hair/tentacles. If there is and I passed over it I’ll look again. Anyway thanks in advance. :P

	@mrs puh'f I might not be the best person to answer this, but from my experience their use varies from case to case, however I usually get the best use outta them by plugging it in as the color map for a separate principled shader, then connecting them both to a mix shader.

	Ah, thanks again Jasper! I actually already use eevee because my computer can't handle cycles. I'll be sure to check out that 3-point lighting add on, since I was mostly struggling with getting the model evenly lit so that sounds perfect!

	[Right off the bat, I'm going to say I know pretty much nothing about lighting...] This isn't really an answer to your question, but...I don't think messing with the lighting settings will help you much, especially if you don't know what the settings do. There are some things I have done to get nicer renders, I hope they help you, too. 1. Use the Eevee render engine, if you're not using it already, because it's similar to a game engine. Game engines render really fast, at the expense of more realistic graphics. Eevee "cheats" when it comes to graphics just like a game engine does, so that it renders faster, unlike the cycles render engine which prioritizes realistic graphics but renders much slower. If you use Eevee, the graphics will look much closer to Splatoon's than Cycle's graphics will. 2. Experiment with materials! Blender renders materials much differently from Splatoon. You can get nice renders by using the Splatoon textures and nothing else, but the graphics won't look much like Splatoon. Mess around with the principled shader parameters. I like messing with clearcoat/clearcoat roughness to get shiner materials because the basic materials usually aren't shiny enough. Don't feel like you have to use only the textures, add nodes to see what they do! You'll never get the same exact look as Splatoon because it's render engine has a bunch of stuff that Blender doesn't have, but you can get close enough. Lastly, you'll need lighting...you won't get much help from me on that. I suck at lighting so I just use the 3 point lights addon...

	Any tips for lighting settings? I, of course, want it to look like the ingame lighting, but I'm not getting any luck from just futzing around in the settings.

	Yeah, everything to do with alpha is a bit confusing until you figure it out. Doesn't help that sometimes blender "auto-maps" a random texture to alpha even though it does nothing, which makes it harder to infer what it actually does.

	Splendid! It's mostly a problem of figuring out which alpha texture to use, lol. I think I might make a small tutorial on using and combining alpha masks for people who might not figure it out as fast as you. :)

	Oh, thanks Jasper, I'll see if I can figure that out. Also, I found an easier solution for the mouth. If anyone's interested, you just gotta take the file m_teamcolor_tcl.png ,put it into the texture editor, then color the teeth part black. After that you just plug everything in the same way you would with the hair. Edit: I managed to use the gear alpha mask thingy. It was actually way easier than I thought it'd be. 	@cmars If you've got the shoe in the right position, it'll clip anyway, especially these high heeled boots because they don't conform to shape of the players' feet. You have to use the gear alpha masks to turn sections of the player body invisible so that they don't clip. [Video tutorial here.]

	Ok, so I've got another question: I'm using agent 8's boots, but since their high-heels, the boot itself is a weird shape. Right now I'm trying to figure out how to fit the foot into the shoe properly (since I can't just use the default position) and whenever I figure something out, armature deform screws everything up. Can somebody help me with this edit: ignore that its a footpic educational purposes only (im not a creep I promise)

	That's okay. You could put the picture on something like discord and link the picture by just pasting the link to it. It wouldn't be clickable but I'd still work by copy and pasting.

	Well, if you don't have the picture [which is fine]. I'll guess that whatever is controlling the color balance can go into a mix shader with a colored emission shader acting as the color. :)

	so if you guys remember from a while back Yan posted a pic showing how to get that two toned hair i desired, btw thank you so much Yanbut i never understood how it worked, until now, the albedo texture is the inside/ bottom part of the tentacles and the tcl is just the colored part, i was wondering if there was a way to make the second color of the tentacles an emission... yeah i'm back at it again with these dumb questions, srry :-l

	Thank you, Mrs. Puh'f! I actually just took the design from the costume/weapon that comes from the inkling girl amiibo and made the skin darker because it renders out better. :)

	I assume you mean the player mouths? I think they must use ingame shaders. What I do is separate the teeth from the mouth, give the mouth the eyebrow material [minus nrm map], keep the teeth the default material, and then join up the teeth and mouth with the skin they belong to.

	@mrs puh'f I don't think this community is going to die anytime too soon, considering quarantine is going to end up bringing more people into digital hobbies like this (I know I've never used blender until the boredom got to me) ALsO, does anyone know how to color the inside of the squib's mouth? It's a TRM dealio and I already have that set up, but I just can't find the right files to use for the TRM and the Albedo.
